Klaveness Combination Carriers (KCC) is strengthening its CLEANBU chartering team in Singapore, following the establishment of a new chartering and commercial operations desk in Dubai this summer. We seek an experienced charterer within clean petroleum products (CPP) trades who will have responsibility for daily chartering of the CLEANBU-fleet in the Far East, Oceania, and other Pacific trades. This position will also take active part in business development to lay the ground for further expanding KCC’s unique business, the most efficient and lowest carbon shipping solution in the tanker and dry bulk space.
KCC’s chartering team consists currently of four persons located in Oslo, Singapore, and Dubai with the responsibility for employing KCC’s fleet of 16 vessels (+ 3 newbuilds) mainly on contract of affreightments and spot business. The chartering team works closely with the commercial operations team consisting of four persons located in Oslo, Singapore, Dubai, and Manila. The position will report to the CEO and the Global head of CLEANBU chartering.
Your responsibilities and tasks:
Day-to-day chartering of the CLEANBU fleet in the Far East, Oceania, and the Pacific to secure efficient utilization of the fleet:
o CPP /chemical tanker chartering
o Dry bulk chartering (over time)
o Secure long and short term CoAs in target combination trades
Customer responsible and engage in continuous dialogue with CPP customers in the Far East, Oceania, and the Pacific to:
o Optimize use of the CLEANBU fleet to maximize value creation.
o Deliver large cuts in the carbon footprint of the customers’ ocean freight.
Active business development to further improve resilience and the growing of KCC’s CLEANBU business.
Approach based on analytics and available trade and industry data, including in-depth knowledge of customers’ requirements and operations.
Qualifications and experience:
Diploma or university degree.
Chartering manager (and or brokering) with in-depth knowledge of product tanker chartering (and preferably also dry bulk chartering).
Minimum 5 years’ experience in CPP chartering and or brokering, preferably from the Far East, Oceania, and the Pacific.
Good data & analytics skills
Customer oriented, both to develop new business and to follow up customers.
The ability to combine daily chartering work with business development.
